Last Year and Sewing

Do you know what I was doing last 4th of July Weekend? I was sewing a dress like crazy. My sisters wedding was less than month away and my personal goal was to have it done two weeks before the wedding, so I could focus on the veil and my dress the last two weeks. I took a break to go to a picnic, but came back and sewed some more.

And what a beautiful dress it was. It was full and flowy. It was silky, yet sturdy. It was beautiful, yet even slightly practical. And she was a beautiful bride.

This fourth of July weekend has been slightly different. I stained some wood. I made some freezer pops. I'll be making a cake or cupcakes tomorrow morning. I shot some guns. And I haven't sewn a thing!

I'm actually a little sad about it because I have several projects that I want to work on, including another tiered skirt for me, some superhero masks/helmets, a teepee and a birthday present for my nephew! But I must finish this pantry project because I can't seem to find my sewing desk under everything I have piled on top.
