One morning, instead of children, Lady Mommy woke up having a Cockersho Monster and a Bug. On this fateful morning, Lady Mommy opened the door to her babies' room and a stench startled her into complete wakefulness. There in the crib the Cockersho Monster had caused the stench and was drenching wet. She took him and cleaned him up so that he looked like a little boy again, took the hand of the Bug, and went downstairs to make breakfast.
While making breakfast, the Bug and Cockersho Monster devised what havoc and mayhem they could unleash on their mother who unaware of their plotting was hoping to have a productive day taking care of the laundry. By the time breakfast was ready, the Cockersho Monster had filled his diaper again and leaked out over his outfit. Lady Mommy cleaned him up again, while Sir Daddy fastened the Bug into his booster seat.
The Cockersho Monster wanted to eat his cereal with his mouth shut, so instead of opening his mouth until the spoon was all the way in, he would open it a crack, and when Lady Mommy began to slip the spoon in, he would lunge forward and close his mouth, spilling the cereal everywhere. While Lady Mommy was thus occupied, the Bug decided to play "Fox on Knox" with his cups, Fox fell off Knox onto the floor and chocolate milk spilled all over the place.
Though slightly concerned about the mess he made, which now Sir Daddy and Lady Mommy were cleaning up, the Bug began to question everything in his small world. Was Sir Daddy going to work? Could he have more Chocolate Milk? Was Malcolm crying? (yes) Could he get down and play? and so on. Sir Daddy was getting a headache by this time, and Lady Mommy was overwhelmed with the noise both creatures were making.
Sir Daddy left for work and Lady Mommy went to start the laundry. Forgetting that she had a Bug and Monster, she assumed they would play well together. Within moments of stepping out of the room, she came running back to find the Cockersho Monster had pulled down the toy ramp on top of himself. She stopped the tears, and left again. When she came back, the Bug had dumped every toy out of its bin, and was sitting on top of the Cockersho Monster as if he was a horse. The Cockersho Monster was beginning to get worried about this predicament but didn't start to cry until Lady Mommy yelled as she pulled the Bug off of him.
There was a time of apologies and hugs and again Lady Mommy tried to get the laundry. Again wails interrupted her work. This time the Bug had pulled a toy out of the Cockersho Monsters hands and knocked him over.
At this point Lady Mommy gave up. They all read books the rest of the morning and after naps, Lady Mommy discovered that her two sweet little boys had returned.
