The NUK is a quiet animal which resides in our kingdom and brings order and stability to all it inhabitants. Known best for their ability to sooth Baby Eamon into slumber or at least calmness, they also enjoy frequent baths and hiding in mysterious places. Currently there are 4 NUK's in Sir Daddy and Lady Mommy's kingdom. Two are still in cages, one is an Upstairs NUK and the other is a Downstairs NUK. But the tricky thing about these NUKs is that they like to switch, so the Upstairs NUK sometimes becomes the Downstairs NUK and vice versa. Even more tricky is when they both become Upstairs NUKs or Downstairs NUKs. When such things happen we have a Hunting of the NUK.
The first place to hunt a NUK is in their usual habitats. The Upstairs NUK often enjoys grazing in the Flower Bed, while the Downstairs NUK enjoys exploring the Desk Jungle. When they are not found in those habitats, further places include the Tablelands and the Carseat Caverns.
On this particular adventure, Lady Mommy was sitting near the Desk Jungle with a sleeping Baby Eamon on her lap. He began to stir, so she quickly reached into the Desk Jungle to find the Downstairs NUK. She groped about in vain; there was no NUK there! With every movement, Baby Eamon was drawn from his slumbering state and soon neared Complete Wakefulness. There was nothing for it but a full NUK hunt.
Since the Tablelands and Carseat Caverns are rather close to the Desk Jungle, they were first search, but to no avail. The steep mountain was climbed to search in the Upstairs. The Flower Bed was first searched, but it was not there. The Upstairs NUK was found on the Chest of Drawers, but the other NUK, the ought-to-be-Downstairs-NUK was not there.
Just when Lady Mommy was about to give up all hope and turn the Upstairs NUK into a Downstairs NUK, she caught a glimpse of something. There in the Flower Bed was a big white bear. And cruelly stuck in its fur was the Downstairs NUK, causing both the bear and the NUK some discomfort. Quickly Lady Mommy rushed to their aid. She carefully extricated the NUK from the fur and patted the bear on its head before it lumbered away. Then she gave the downstairs NUK a bath to cheer it up so it could sooth Baby Eamon back to sleep.
But alas, the adventure had proved too exciting for Baby Eamon and he was fully awake. So with NUK in tow, Lady Mommy and Baby Eamon tackled the Laundry Pile.
this is adorable! these are the sorts of stories that make me think being a mommy would be awesome. =) it is much more tangible than a lot of young mommies I know whose mommy lives seem mostly to be about dressing up their babies for facebook photo shoots. =) also, I bet I know which bear!!
