Once upon a time, Lady Mommy got up after a night of unrestful sleep. She had fought off the abominable snowman who had sent his minions to freeze Baby Eamon and the night frights that were trying to steal him away. In spite of those battles, Lady Mommy wasn't feeling too exhausted, and had grand adventures planned for the day. She planned to bake bread for supper and to prepare to teach. For a few hours everything went according to plan. The dough got mixed and began to rise during First Nap. But tragedy had struck. Baby Eamon fell asleep without his daily, and often predictable, Diaper Filling.
That meant he work up far too early and was terribly grumpy when he woke. The next few hours were spent trying to calm Baby Eamon. Then Lady Mommy remembered the bread rising in the oven. Since Baby Eamon wasn't currently crying, she began to turn the dough into loaves. As she finished the first loaf, Baby Eamon, who had been fussy, began to scream. Quickly, Lady Mommy picked him up, ready to ward off any enemy that had attacked her baby.
But she couldn't see any enemy, Under her watchful eye, she put Baby Eamon carefully down and he kept crying. Quickly she finished the second loaf. And though she picked him up and rocked him and fed him and danced with him and cuddled him and changed his diaper, nothing seemed to sooth Baby Eamon. He cried and screamed and fussed. The only position that seemed to bring any comfort was draped like a wild cat over Lady Mommy's arm.
Lady Mommy decided that since it was a gorgeous day out, maybe Baby Eamon would like to take a walk. Maybe that would calm him. As she prepared for the walk, she noticed that one of Baby Eamon's eyes was red, puffy, and watering. Thinking that maybe it was from crying so much, she did not think much of it. But when Baby didn't like the sunlight and squinched up his little face, but stopped crying, she could tell that one eye was significantly more red and puffy than the other. Immediately the stress monsters attacked with such subtlety that Lady Mommy hardly noticed their presence until the had captured the outer wall.
Baby Eamon slept a bit on the walk, but Mommy walked very quickly hoping that by her moving, she would be able to get away from the stress monsters. The stress monster were left behind, but the Baby was still not happy. He dozed but never really slept and started to cry bad enough that Lady Mommy carried him for the last bit of the walk home. His eye looked worse than ever, though for the next little bit, Lady Mommy was able to finish lesson plans for English classes.
Sir Daddy came home and took care of Baby Eamon while Lady Mommy bustled about getting dinner ready. It was very yummy and Baby was very cuddly and out of sorts. Just as Lady Mommy was about to feed him and leave, he filled his diaper. Almost instantly, he began to act like his normal little self again. He was pretty good for Sir Daddy while Lady Mommy was away although his eye was still all puffy and red. And finally they all went to bed.
In the morning, Baby Eamon was his usual happy self. His eye was not puffy or red. And they all lived happily ever for day.
The End.
