Exciting news!

One of my students learned to read today! She has been struggling even remembering her the letter sounds. She also seems to second guess her answers a lot. We got our first reading books and she read her page without any help. Everybody else in her group needed help. From there, in her spare time, she read page after page of blends and one vowel words! There weren't even pictures to help her out. The look of delight on her face when she realized she could do it almost brought tears to my eyes. Moments like this remind me of what part of teaching is about.
